Azure Quantum Computing

August 24, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

Quantum computing harnesses quantum mechanics to enable computations that can solve remarkably complex problems. Applied to areas such as financial services, machine learning, or chemistry and materials development, quantum computers can aid in development far beyond the capacity of present-day supercomputers. Researchers and businesses can model complex scenarios in risk management, cybersecurity, vaccine development, and materials science. Azure Quantum is a Microsoft Azure service that developers, researchers, and businesses can use to run quantum computing programs or solve optimization problems in the cloud.

Rick Weyenberg has over 25 years of professional development, design, and architecture experience in commercial and IT software engineering and management, which includes deploying one of the very first Azure workloads in the world.. His current role is customer-facing and he leads technical architecture discussions with senior customer executives, enterprise architects, IT management and developers.

Additionally, Rick works with a wide variety of Microsoft Azure services to help customers design cloud-based solutions ranging from “move-and-improve” migrations on Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to cloud-native application modernization based on serverless and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings.
