Ben Taylor, Chief AI Evangelist @ DataRobot will be speaking to us this month.

Talk Title: Building AI systems that work and understanding those that fail

Talk Description: AI can be a liability. The effort of building it, deploying it, and then ensuring it continues to work as intended. In this Taylor will discuss the key differences between experimental AI and applied, the capabilities today, and where we are going.

**Bio:** Ben Taylor has over 17 years of machine-learning experience. After studying chemical engineering, Taylor joined Intel and Micron and worked in their photolithography, process control, and yield prediction groups. Pursuing his love for high-performance computing (HPC) and predictive modeling, Taylor joined an artificial intelligence hedge fund (AIQ) as their HPC/AI expert and built out models using a 600 GPU cluster to predict stock movements based on the news. Taylor then joined a young Sequoia-backed HR start-up called HireVue to run their data group. In 2017 Taylor co-founded Zeff.ai to pursue deep learning for image, audio, video, and text for the enterprise. Zeff was acquired by DataRobot in 2020 where Taylor now works as their Chief AI Evangelist. Ben has been invited to speak on AI to companies like Space X, Red Bull, Amazon, and Goldman Sachs.
